AI can generate code. That doesn't mean the product is ready.
It has never been easier to begin. You can describe an idea to an AI tool and receive pages of working code within minutes. You might even have something that looks like a real app running on your own laptop by the end of the evening.
Getting it working on your own laptop is the easy part. The questions that decide whether it survives real customers are exactly the ones an AI tool will never think to ask you.
Still unanswered
- Is your customers' information stored in a way that will hold up?
- Could one customer see another customer's private details?
- Is anything stopping someone who tries to break in?
- Where do the passwords and keys to your own system live?
- How do you change one thing without breaking another?
- What happens when an update goes wrong at ten at night?
- If it all disappeared tomorrow, could you get it back?
- Will it still work when a hundred people use it at once?
- How would you know if the AI got something quietly wrong?
- What happens when the AI fixes one thing and breaks another?
These are the points where most first-time builders get stuck. You do not need a full development team to build your idea - but you do need the basics, someone experienced checking your work, and a safe way to put it in front of real people.
02 - What it is
Between learning alone and hiring an agency.
Software University is a guided subscription programme for people who want to build their own apps, online services and business tools using AI.
You remain the builder and the owner. You decide what the product should do, and you use AI-assisted tools to create it. This is not a coding course built around imaginary exercises - you learn by working on a real product that matters to you.
